- COD (mg/l)<61
- SS (mg/l)<15
Effluent qualities
- BOD5 (%) = 92
- COD (%) = 90
- SS (%) = 94
- The equipment is designed to treat waste water with the following composition: BOD5: 400ppm, COD: 600ppm, SS: 450ppm
Operation
- The system is carried out in the following stages:
1 - Primary settling tank: sedimentation and settling of the influent. The water is pumped to the reactor in a programmed way at the beginning of a cycle. Its operation is not affected by the hourly discontinuity of the influent flow. It decants part of the solids and also anaerobically degrades the accumulated organic matter.
2 - Biological clarifier reactor: The treatment sequences are as follows: - Filling: reception of a certain volume of water from the primary settling tank by pumping.
- Reactor: in the reaction stage, aerobic phases (presence of oxygen) are combined with anoxic phases (without oxygen) which allows the removal of organic matter and nutrients.
- Sedimentation: during this phase and in the absence of agitation and aeration, the sludge settles, leaving the sludge at the bottom and the clarified at the top.
- Emptying: the treated water is pumped out.
